anti-idling campaignOur Green School Committee recently took part in an anti-idling campaign to raise awareness among parents. The initiative encourages drivers to switch off their engines while waiting to collect their children. During the event, students handed out informative leaflets highlighting how unnecessary idling wastes fuel and contributes to air pollution around the school. By reducing engine idling, we can all help create a cleaner, healthier environment for our children. Please support this important cause by remembering to turn off your engine while waiting. Small actions can make a big difference 11/3/2026
Peace PROMS 2026Our school choir, made up of students from 4th, 5th and 6th Class, had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Peace Proms in the RDS on Saturday, 7th February 2026.
The choir performed to a live audience, including many proud parents, and sang alongside pupils from schools across the country. In total, approximately 2,000 children took part in the event. It was a truly memorable and inspiring experience for all involved. Our very own Aarya from 5th Class won a special merit award in the 2025 Texaco Children's Art Competition.
Here is Aarya at the Competition Awards Ceremony, held yesterday at Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort. Huge congratulations to Aarya - everyone in Hansfield is so proud of you!! Conor's sixth class was invited to the Sports Campus Ireland this week to take part in the launch of their school tours. Together with their sponsor and Team Ireland, they had a tour of the world class facilities, participated in a variety of sporting activities including athletics and gymnastics, and met Olympians Thomas Barr and Ellen Walshe!

Hansfield art exhibition...Our school was abuzz with excitement today for the inaugural Hansfield Art Exhibition. After weeks of preparation by pupils and their teachers, it was time to welcome their parents/family into the school to view their wonderful creations, and enjoy the other events organised for the day. Our art exhibition raised over €5,000 for our school. Once again, our parents and community went above and beyond to support their children's school. So many people worked so hard to bring this day together.. Thank you to:

MUSIC AT HANSFIELD....The energy was out of this world as Hansfield choir joined almost two and a half thousand other school children and the cross border orchestra of Ireland at the Peace Proms concert at the RDS in January!
We soaked up the electric atmosphere, enjoyed the performances from the soloists and dancers, and sang our hearts out! Nicolas is continuing to teach music classes in Réalt Áras and violin lessons to 3rd and 4th classes. 2nd classes are learning the recorder and the 6th classes performed ukulele for our school community at the Winter assemblies last term.
