 STEM week 2025 at Hansfield was action packed with lots of fun events and surprises for everyone to enjoy! Thank you to all our parents, guardians and friends who came to see our investigations at the STEM showcase. Thanks to the PTA for helping with the planting station. In addition to the showcase, we had lego challenges, lego robotics, BeeBots, STEM trolleys, a STEM themed quiz and library display. For the first time ever, this year we had a 'Floor is Lava' whole school challenge. Can you guess whose class saved the most bears????  Four of Hansfield's finest quizzers took part in the Community Credit Union Schools Quiz lat night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown.
Out of 55 teams, Hansfield came in 3rd place. How proud we are of them!! Now, they head to the National Final to be held in Portlaoise in March. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS our wonderful pupils and their teachers, Joe and Alison. 17/12/2024

International Diabetes Day Thank you to everyone who helped raise awareness about diabetes on International Diabetes Day at Hansfield. The school was awash with the colour blue. Daniel (sixth class) presented to classes about his personal experience with type 1 diabetes. Teachers and staff were extremely impressed with Daniel's presentation. He was confident, engaging and informative. Well done Daniel!! 29/10/2024

Garden at Hansfield The Hansfield ETNS Green Fingers group has been hard at work making the most of the fine weather and plants are blooming all around! There is a small garden located near the staff car park. Each plant is labeled and some even have a nice chart to learn about the different parts of the plant and how they grow. Next time you have a moment, pop over to have a look and keep your eyes peeled for the first strawberries! Also see if you can spot the tomato and pepper plants growing by leaps and bounds at a side entrance. A sunny spot perfect for lots of fruit. A big thank you to the members of staff and parents who volunteer to make these things for us to enjoy. 16/5/2024
Hansfield Annual Book Fair Today, we held our annual book fair. As usual, parents and children were eager to browse and purchase books. A huge thanks to our PTA who organised the sale and ordering of books. A huge task but completed with much aplomb by our wonderful group of parent volunteers. The sale of the books will mean free books for our school. Thank you to everyone for your support!  Our very own Jo Jo Alabi (6th Class) scored the winning goal in the SFAI U12s All Ireland Final on Sunday last. What a marvellous achievement and what a player!! Jo Jo plays for Corduff FC and is certainly one to watch out for in the future. An Artist in our midst... Read about Aarya.... I'm Aarya Shenoy from Niamh C's 4th class. On 20th April, I took part in PARV 2024 Junior Artists Exhibition organised by Dublin Desi Collective at The Park Community Centre , Firhouse. There were about 9 participants , aged 10 - 15, me being the youngest . The arts varied from acrylic painting , watercolour painting, Mandala, Madhubani (a type of Indian folk art), paper quilling, pencil sketch and miniature crafts. I had 18 pieces of art to showcase which included pencil sketch, acrylic painting, sketch pen and colour pencil drawings. I was awarded ''Best in Show'' at the hands of Mrs. Reeti Mishra (spouse of the Indian Ambassador, Akhilesh Mishra) who was the chief guest at the event. I received a lot of positive feedback and appreciation for my artwork and I'm glad for this encouraging opportunity. |
