After missing two years due to C-19, the Cycle Safety Programme returned to Hansfield ETNS. We were so happy to see our friends from Cycle Safety. 5th Class took part in this six week programme of cycling theory, safety and practice. After five weeks of hard work in the classroom and practice in the playground, our amazing 5th Class pupils were ready to venture out into local neighbourhood. They put into practice all they had learned - dressing appropriately with helmet and high-vis vest, obeying the rules of the road, watching out for pedestrians, signalling correctly and returning safely to the school. See them in action! 25/3/2022
swimming lessonsIt was a cold Friday morning in March but that dampen the spirits of our 3rd Class and Réalt Áras pupils as they headed to the National Aquatic Centre for the first of their six weekly swim lessons. Fergal had hired a big yellow bus and they were only to happy to wave me off the bus!! 15/3/2022
PTA Sponsored walkThe PTA organised a sponsored walk around the local area to raise funds for our school library on Tuesday, 15th March. They chose a very apt 'St Patrick's Day' theme. Teachers and children worked so hard to create banners, flags, hats and much more to wear on the day. It was wonderful fun and I am sure an enjoyable sight for our neighbours too to see a sea of green and happy children passing by their doors. There was a gold coin for everyone who completed the walk and a raffle with some lovely prizes for the lucky winners - once again organised by the PTA. A huge thank you to the PTA for organising such a fun fundraiser and to the children who walked.... there was a phenomenal response and the children raised much needed funds for the library. Can you spot yourself in one of our group videos??? 14/3/2022
Seachtain na gaeilgeWe have had the most wonderful few days here at Hansfield in celebration of Seachtain na Gaeilge. We learned about Irish tradition and music, practiced our use of the Irish language and most of all had fun in doing so. Come and join us at An Céilí Mór sa Halla and hear Zephra play the tin whistle... 2/11/2021

Their behaviour and adherence to instructions ensures that everyone at Hansfield is kept safe. Do have check out our 'time-lapse' video. 22/10/2021
Halloween at hansfieldWhat a week we’ve had here at Hansfield! Thanks to our PTA, every class in the school had their very own Halloween party. With games and tricks and treats, the children had the most wonderful time. I’m sure you heard all about it at home but here’s a short video capturing some fun moments. Enjoy and have a wonderful mid-term break! 20/10/2021
Science Foundation of Ireland AwardCongratulations to all our pupils at HETNS! We received another award from the Science Foundation of Ireland for all of our excellent work in STEM last year. It was a bit trickier this time but with the help of our families we were able to do loads of STEM activities at home as well as in school. Thanks to our excellent teachers and supportive parents for all your help!
