Fire truck visitYou may remember that we recently had a visit from Station Officer John and Firefighter Seán from Dublin Fire Service. Well, Station Officer John returned today with his fire truck! Junior and Senior Infants waited patiently for the sound of the siren to hail its arrival. Children were able to the fire truck up close, learn about the different parts and uses of the truck and watch a fire hose display! To finish up, some lucky children even held the hose. The visit was cut a little short as the team was called out to an emergency. Such is the job of our wonderful fire service! Check out our short video! Hansfield ETNS is taking park in this year's Dublin Primary Schools Mini-Basketball League. Initially joining with Gaelscoil Thulas na nÓg Dunboyne, St Luke's Tyrrellstown and St Francis Xavier Roselawn, each team will play 3 home and 3 away matches with their school cluster. Visit from firefighters John & SeánOn Monday, Junior and Senior Infants classes had two very special visitors - Station Officer John and Firefighter Seán from Dublin Fire Brigade.
They came to talk about fire safety, the role of firefighters in our community and schools and how they do their work. Seán dressed up in his full breathing attire which really impressed the children. They also spoke about the school fire drill and the importance of smoke alarms in the home. They used a real smoke alarm and let the children hear the noise when it is activated, in the event of a fire. A huge thank you to Dublin Fire Brigade and John and Seán! 11/11/2022

The workshop was aimed at families with children aged between 7 and 10, to have a positive basic computer learning experience as a family. The families learnt how to code a game of "Rock Paper Scissors" on the MakeCode platform, which they could download onto a "microbit" and play amongst each other.
