If you are seeking a place for your child in a special class in 2026/27 (for example an autism class), you MUST notify the National Council for Special Education (NCSE). The parents' notify portal is now open for families to contact the NCSE if they are seeking specialised educational placement for the 2026/2027 school year

The deadline for parents to contact the NCSE through this new portal is
1st October 2025.

Applying for a place in autism class 2026/27 

For 2026/2027 school year autism class admissions Hansfield will participate in the D15 Autism Class Application Trial.
17 primary schools, and Danú special school are participating in the Dublin 15 Autism Class Application Trial. By completing one ONLINE application form and submitting it with relevant paperwork, you can apply to 18 schools.
This trial does not represent a common admissions policy. Hansfield ETNS maintains complete autonomy over our admission policy, criteria and oversubscription criteria. Please note that parental participation in this trial, does not guarantee an autism class place for your child.
